How do I reset the Neuron 4dsky Edge software?

This article describes how to reset the 4dsky Edge software. You may have read in the internet how to reset the jetvision device, which is different. While there are reasons to reset the neuron software (see below) you should never reset the jetvision software as this will affect your warranty. If you think you need to reflash the jetvision device then do speek with your supplier before doing so and ignore internet or community advice.

Sometimes you may wish to reset the Neuron software installed on your JetVision device to a fresh state, some reason you may wish to do this include:

resetting your software will bring 1337 back, which will require to put in your keys. Use the same keys you had before resetting if you want to retain ledger state associated to the device.

  1. Relocation - you move your JetVision device/sensor to a new location

  2. Security - your keys become compromised

  3. Corruption - your config becomes corrupted and the software no longer accepts buyers

Do not reset the device because you are stuck and don’t know how to proceed.

To reset your device navigate to http://jetvision-ip-address:1336/reinstall-package

Please note that on some earlier devices the reinstallation address is http://my-jv-ip-address:8080/reinstall-package

Once you have made a request to the URL please make sure you:

✅ DO let it spin for 20-30 seconds until you see a confirmation message
⛔ DO NOT refresh the page before you see the confirmation message

Once a reset has been completed you should be able to visit the setup wizard at http://jetvision-ip-address:1337/. You will need to re-enter your keys for the device to continue working
