4dsky is a decentralised, edge-native flight tracking network. It enables real-time aviation data to flow directly from sensors to applications with low latency and high reliability, without relying on centralised servers.

Terminology

4dsky Project
The overall decentralised flight tracking initiative. It connects independently operated sensors to consumers of aviation data and supports real-world, safety-critical use cases.

4dsky Edge
The software (SDK) that runs on supported hardware such as JetVision sensors. It processes flight data locally and connects the sensor to the 4dsky network as an active participant.

4dsky Website
The user-facing portal for the 4dsky network. It is used to onboard sensors, view flight data, manage accounts, and interact with the ecosystem.

Neuron
The underlying peer-to-peer network used by 4dsky. Neuron handles device discovery, secure connections, and data exchange between sensors and buyers without central coordination.
